There is a very good BBC series entitled, "The Power of the Planet" - - from the SCCT viewpoint, the 'Oceans' section, chapter 4, concerning the Ocean Conveyor, 2 degress and ocean acidification are particularly relevant and provides a backdrop to our concerns for the state of the oceans and their biodiversity. The DVD/CD is available through various suppliers on the internet.
The DVD/CD provides a thought-provoking question about the paucity of steps taken to rectify the climate change and carbon cycle at the COP15 and makes you wonder whether any realistic steps will be taken at Bonn or Mexico. It seems more likely that short-term expediency and perceived national interest will prevail yet again !! |
